LAKEPORT — Mark Marek nailed down a win in the modified main event Saturday night during King of the Hill Challenge Series racing action at the Lakeport Speedway.

Joining Marek in the winner”s circle were Todd Armstrong in the mini-stock division, Eric Johnson in the Guy Strohmeier Auto Center bonus bomber division, George Abella in the Guy Strohmeier Auto Center bomber division, and Bill Coleman in the Fiberglass 500 boat race.

Modifieds

Marek took the checkered flag in the modified main ahead of Steve Taylor, points leader Terry McIntire, Noel McCormack Jr. and Thomas Wright.

McIntire was the fast qualifier (12.774 seconds) and Darrin Knight won the trophy dash.

Mini-stocks

Mini-stock feature winner Armstrong hit the finish line in front of Robert Schmidt, Davey Coyne, Brad Laird and Jessica Aceves.

Schmidt was the fast qualifier (14.125), Armstrong won the trophy dash, and Aceves won the only heat race.

Bonus bombers

Johnson”s victory in the bonus bomber feature came in front of heat winner George Mavrakis, Keith Nelson, Manuel Antonio and fast qualifier (14.080) and divisional points leader Andy Vanderveer.

Bombers

Abella topped the field in the bomber main event, beating Richie Schwarm, Jon Waner, Andy Norton and Kevin Brackett to the finish line.

Rick Tommila won the B-main event and heat wins went to Tommila, Norton and Waner. Richie Hoven won the trophy dash and Roman Rose set the fast time (15.002).

Fiberglass 500

Coleman of Upper Lake, skippering the Quien Sabe, won the Fiberglass 500 boat race. Melody Funderburk of Fort Bragg, piloting The Rubber Duck, came in second, and Buddy Silva of Kelseyville, pulling My Old Boat, came in third.

The King of the Hill Challenge Series continues this coming Saturday at Ukiah and will feature the Pro-4 modifieds, modifieds, bonus bombers, bombers and bandoleros.
