WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. ? Former Clear Lake High School and Sonoma State University baseball star Paige Dumont now has three saves for the Williamsport Crosscutters, a Class A affiliate of the Philadephia Phillies organization.
Since joining the Crosscutters, Dumont has compiled a 2-0 record with three saves in 21 2/3 innings while posting a 3.32 ERA and a solid 1.06 WHIP (walks plus hits allowed per inning pitched).
Dumont has struck out 21 and walked only seven in his 21 2/3 innings for Williamsport, which competes in the Class A short-season New York-Penn League.
Silva suffers first loss
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. ? Ray Silva, a former Kelseyville High School and Santa Rosa Junior College baseball standout, suffered his first professional loss on Wednesday in a 6-5, 14-inning setback to Greenesville in an Appalachian Rookie League game.
Silva, a reliever for the Johnson City Cardinals, allowed two hits, walked two and struck out four in 1 2/3 innings.
On the season, Silva is 0-1 with one save and a 4.91 ERA. He has allowed six hits and four earned runs in 7 1/3 innings, with eight strikeouts and six walks.
