In reference to a recent Letter to the Editor in the Record-Bee, how does Ms. Penning know the kids congregating at Uhl and Alvita are from the skate park?
Did she watch them leave the skate park from her home four blocks away? Has she seen them carrying skates? Kids will congregate anywhere there are other kids, whether it is a skate park or not. The skate park is one of the most constructive things the city has done for kids in a place where much more should be done for them.
Kids who burn off energy perfecting their skills at skating do not usually have the same motivations as those who congregate to smoke pot.
