Erna Penny Putman was born April 9, 1927 and died July 25, 2007 after complications from a fall at home.
Penny lived in Lake County since 1981 with her loving and devoted husband of 40 years, Bob Putman. They owned and operated “Penny”s Beach Cottages” in Clear Lake Oaks, later moving to Lucerne and then Lakeport. Penny was a member and past President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 764 in Lucerne, for 21 years.
She was also a “Pink Lady” for 19 years, at Sutter Lakeside Hospital and recently entered into a lifetime membership of the Auxiliary.
Penny can be remembered for her good nature and easy smile. She loved and enjoyed her family, leaving a positive impression on all of them for these traits as well as her strong work ethic. Penny was known as “Grammy” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They will say she was the best possible grandmother anyone could ever have.
Beloved wife, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Penny is survived by her loving husband, Robert Putman; sons, Bob, Rick and Randy Titus and step-son Ken Putman. She was the grandmother of nine and great-grandmother of five.
A visitation to celebrate the life of Penny Putman will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2 at Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary, 1625 N. High St., Lakeport.
