Patrick George Woodfin
1960 – 2007
On July 26, 2007 Patrick lost a very long, but courageous battle, with liver disease. Patrick was born and raised in Oakland, then spent many years living in Alameda with his wife, Lisa, and two sons, Jacob and Maxwell. His sons were the ultimate loves of his life.
In the past year, Patrick realized how fortunate he was to have chosen to move to Middletown. He loved the friends he met while here, and marveled at the style of life here. He will be long remembered for his humor and his smile and his love of life. He lived and loved with an intensity and sincerity that was endless. There will forever be a vast emptiness in our hearts without Patrick.
Patrick is survived by his mother, Shirley Woodfin; siblings: Jeff, David, Martin, Joan, Thomas, Joseph, Catherine and Susan; wife, Lisa Woodfin; sons, Jacob and Maxwell; many nieces and nephews; and many, many friends.
His family would like to thank the entire UC Davis Medical Center. We could never walk down the hallways without someone kindly asking us about Patrick. We especially send our love to Sharon Stencel and Courtney Wells, Transplant Coordinators for UC Davis. You are our heroes. Without you, this journey would have been unbearable. Further thanks to the Kiwanis House of Sacramento, for without your wonderful accommodations and support, we would not have been able to be with Patrick during this time. Also, we would like to especially thank all of our wonderful friends that have been here through this rollercoaster. Your love for Patrick is astounding. Special thanks to Annie and Terri, Stephanie and Mike, Penny and Merrill, Sarah and Starlin, and Bonnie and Allen.
We, his family, would be honored if you joined us in a celebration of Patrick”s life at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at the Langtry Estates & Vineyards; 21000 Butts Canyon Rd., Middletown. (LangtryEstate.com).
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to the Patrick Woodfin Fund: P.O. Box 811, Middletown, CA 95461. These donations will be given to the Kiwanis House, in order to continue their wonderful work, and also to the Donate Life Organization, so that they may continue to educate everyone on the importance of organ and tissue donation. Organ donation saves lives. Please visit: donatelifecalifornia.org to register your organ donations.
