For the fourth year, the Lakeport Regional Chamber has contracted with the County of Lake to design and build the County exhibit in Sacramento.
As of Friday, August 3rd, only 10 shifts remained to be filled by those wishing to be Lake County Ambassadors. The California State Fair runs from Friday, August 17th through Monday, September 3rd at CalExpo in Sacramento, states Anna Girod, president of the Lakeport Regional Chamber of Commerce.
This year, we reduced the number of hours in each shift, states Girod and it seems to have brought more volunteers to the table. Currently the following shifts need staffing: Aug 23, 6:30-10pm; Aug 24th to Aug 26th, from 6pm to 10pm each evening; Aug 28th, 6:30pm to 10pm, Aug 31 6pm to 10pm; Sept 1st 10am-1:30pm, 1:30pm-6pm; Sept 2nd 1:30-6pm, 6pm-10pm.
If you are interested in covering one of the shifts, you will be provided free admission and parking to the State Fair. Please contact the Chamber at 263-5092 to sign up. You will be required to provide your birth date, California drivers license number and your home zip code. Only Lake County residents are allowed to staff the exhibit.
