John Marshall Tyler of Hidden Valley Lake, died on Sunday, July 29, 2007 at St. Helena Hospital. He was born on March 10, 1930, in Huntington Park to John Marshall and Willie Mae Tyler.

Beloved husband of Rosemary Tyler of 50 years. He is also survived by his five children: Kathleen Lukan (Kevin) of Coarsegold, Calif., Mary Rose “Kelly” Tyler of Mill Valley, Patricia Tomko (Mike) of Hidden Valley Lake, John Tyler (Julie) of Windsor, and William Tyler (Robine) of Florissant, MO. He will be missed by his ten grandchildren: Josef, Kristin, and Erin Lukan; Daniel Rosenlund; Sean, Caitlin, and Eric Tomko; Kayla, Michelle, and Laurn Tyler. He is also survived by his sister, Elizabeth Tyler Broll; brother-in-law, William Broll; sister-in-law, Sydney Tyler; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his parents, John Marshall and Willie Mae Tyler, and his brother, Robert Lee Tyler.

John grew up in Berkeley, was an Eagle Scout, and proudly played the trombone in the Berkeley High School band. He graduated from the University of California, San Francisco, School of Pharmacy in 1954. He served as Captain in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict as a Medical Supply Officer. He owned several drug stores in Northern California, and retired after 15 years as a pharmacist with RiteAid Pharmacy. John took pleasure in gardening, playing bridge, and was an avid reader with an emphasis on history. He was a sports fan, and enthusiastically supported the San Francisco Giants. Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at St. Joseph”s Catholic Church, 21396 Highway 175, Middletown, CA 95467 on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007 at noon. The V=Celebrant for the Mass will be Father James McSweeney. A reception will follow the service.
