This country has become a laughing stock of the entire world. On July 31, Mr. Inslee proprsed that the Judiciary Committee pursue impeachment of Alberto Gonzales:
— who has tried to browbeat a semi-conscous Mr. Ashcroft into signing off on a patently illegal spying program,
— who was the point man in doing a legal end run around the laws against torture,
— who let the White House dictate which U.S. attorneys were not sufficently partisan in their prosecutions,
— who then lied repeatedly wnder oath about it all.
Is any of that impeachable? If we took impeaching President Bush and Vice President Cheney off the table, may be we should Just go after Mr Gonzales, who tells them it is OK.
