As a daycare provider who is caught in this budget problem (NCO providers feel impact of budget limbo, Record-Bee, Aug 10), I would like people to realize that its more than the provider in Ukiah who has had to go into her personal savings.

There are those of us who depend solely on this money to keep our business going. We have no savings and no where to turn. We will be maxing out credit cards to make mortgage payments and just to scrape by. Our lives will be impacted for a long time to come and we may never recover from this.

We are the little people trying to make a living and being stepped on by the state and the people who have plenty of money to “get by”. Please urge our state government to come up with an answer to prevent this from happening again next year. There should be something that makes it illegal for the government to put people in this type of situation.

I have done child care for 18 years, and this may be the end of that.I am proud of what I do, and feel we need to be recognized for the key part we play in keeping families working. I speak for all of us who take classes, go to meetings, keep up on everything pertaining to the children in our care. Please get this settled so we can continue to provide our service to the children and their families.
