Incredibly, the District Attorney”s Office is asking us to believe a
man sitting in a sailboat on a moonless April evening with friends is
more culpable for an occupants death than the person who crashed
into the sailboat. Mind you, the person that crashed into the sailboat
was operating his speedboat at a high rate of speed, with no visibility
and at night.
For the District Attorney to suggest by his criminal complaint that
only one party is responsible for this tragedy is setting a dangerous
precedent. Am I to believe there will be no criminal consequences for
me, if I set out on the lake with no visibility, and at a high rate of speed
and crash into somebody and kill them? Or, Lake County District
Attorney”s Office, does this just apply to law enforcement personnel?
