LAKE COUNTY — Four special district election dates were extended until tonight at 5 p.m. after incumbents did not file by the previous Aug. 10 deadline, according to Lake County Registrar of Voters Diane Fridley.
The districts whose filing deadline is today include Upper Lake Union High School District, Callayomi County Water District, Scotts Valley Water Conservation District and Villa Blue Estates Water District.
When incumbent Ron Bryant did not file for the Upper Lake Union High School District election, the date was extended until 5 p.m. today. So far, the four vying for the spot are sales/marketing director Gary Lewis, business owner Dawn Binns, administrator and grant writer Annie Barnes and incumbent Colleen Alexander.
Retired controller Linda Olhiser is still the only runner for two open vacancies on the Callayomi County Water District, with incumbent Sandi Hall not filing.
Villa Blue Estates Water District has three open spots and three contenders including satellite technician Mark Fetzer and incumbents Dennis Knudsen and Clara Summerfield. Incumbent Ric Rizo has not filed.
The two open spots in Divisions 1 and 3 of the Scotts Valley Water Conservation District still have no one filing for the spots.
