COUNTY PARK — Linda”s Hallmark swept Press Democrat two games to none in the best-of-three championship series for the Lake County Adult Softball Association women”s league championship.
Linda”s won the first game 7-5 on Tuesday, holding off a late Press Democrat surge by turning a 6-3-4 double play with the bases loaded to end it.
In game two on Wednes-day, Linda”s again withstood a late rally by Press Democrat to win 8-6.
Lori Wilson was the winning pitcher in both games. Linda”s top hitter was Tammy Mendonca, who had five hits in the series. Phyllis Gabehart had four hits and Chelsea Moses played stellar defense at shortstop while also collecting four hits.
Press Democrat”s top hitter was Heather Jordan, who had four hits.
