I am the sister in law of Lynn Thornton the victim killed on Clear Lake April 29, 2006.
Wednesday was one of those days where I found myself reading all day on line the comments, blogs, and news media presented to date. News team investigative reporter Dan Noyes exposed the DA and Russell Perdock for the deception they made and continue to maintain with the Record-Bee”s coverage of the San Francisco station”s reports.
Tiffany Revelle”s article has Hopkins” use of a parable saying “what if 50 people saw something” instead of apologizing that two very credible witnesses Doug Jones and Peter Elmer, who stated clear and indisputable what they saw and that lights were on the sail boat. Peter Elmer said and I quote “that clown is going to kill someone.”
Then Sheriff Rodney Michell saying the broadcast news made a bad situation worse then it really was makes me want to slap him. What could be worse then your beautiful sister mowed down by a speed boat, and Lake County not taking the wittiness testimony”s that makes the case for the fact the lights were on.
Instead Hopkins makes parables about no lights on a car pulling in front of someone as if these credible witnesses coming forward didn”t” happen, and his story is “no lights” and by God he is gonna stick to it.
If Dan Noyes investigation didn”t expose these inaccuracies about the incident at Clear Lake, we as a family would not have knowledge of the gentlemen at the scene seeing lights on.
To top it off, Zina Dotti is completely not quoted for having seen Perdock still at the dock 12:30 that night, not allowing her back on the sail boat to retrieve her purse, but Perdock was seen all over his boat, and the DA saying his blood draw was taken when he was still at the dock and going as far as saying the date of 24 hours later a clerical error.
I have followed this case like a night mare that won”t go away, and the statement that other witnesses would contradict Dan Noyes news report is complete fabrication.
Why are they trying to stick to what they call facts when the facts are not facts? Why won”t they relate to new information if they didn”t know those witnesses saw the lights on? Instead they are acting as though no new information can be added to them being exposed for deceitfulness.
Look at the mangled sail boat Perdock slammed into with his speeding boat at night. When they say they sent this case to the State attorney general had they decided to pin manslaughter on Dinius and not Perdock? They waited over one year to release the police report, and charged Dinius hoping time would run out for charges on Perdock.
It wasn”t until Dan Noyes report that the family saw the horrible photo”s of the sail boat and speed boat that killed our sister Lynn Thornton.
Sheriff Mitchell”s comment saying “no one can tell the story and make it a good one” is wrong. It would be really good if justice was served for a 30 year veteran of the law, Lynn Thornton, and the deception of the facts uncovered with the truth. Reporter Dan Noyes knows this and so do I.
