LAKE COUNTY — The Nostalgia Race Car Group is looking for a few good men or women.
NRCG was formed five years ago to provide a place for owners and drivers of vintage race cars to show off their cars and to allow vintage racing fans to see these classic cars runs.
With the help of Lakeport Speedway promoter Nadine Strauss, NRCG has been able to showcase its vehicles at the quarter-mile paved oval at the Lake County Fairgrounds.
NRCG is a totally volunteer organization — no one gets paid. Trophies are given courtesy of current members Brian Yates, Danny Feifer and others working in conjunction with First Place Trophies of Lakeport.
Now it”s time for other vintage car owners and driver to step up and help carry on the venture. If you”re interested, call Yates at 263-1320.
During NRCG”s last appearance in July, Andy Scopazzi drove his No. 3 super modified to victory in the main event. Ken Bonnema came in second and Danny Feifer was third.
Feifer won the trophy dash in his 1941 Ford coupe.
NRCG returns to the Lakeport Speedway for the October Classic the weekend of Oct. 19-21.
