BOONVILLE — Javier Cruz and Quinn Womachka scored their first goals of the season, but the Upper Lake Cougars were overpowered by the Anderson Valley Panthers 7-2 in a non-league varsity boys” soccer game played Monday in Boonville.
The loss dropped Upper Lake to 0-2 on the season.
“They were on it,” Upper Lake coach Kyle Moore said of the Panthers. “They”re a real strong team.”
In his first game as the Cougars” new coach on Friday, Moore watched Upper Lake fall 3-1 to South Fork in Miranda. Josh Stucker scored the Cougars” lone goal.
Upper Lake plays its first home game Wednesday against Kelseyville at 4:30 p.m.
