Members of Clear Lake Performing Arts and their guests will be treated to dinner and a Chamber Music concert when the group meets for its 29th annual meeting, 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, in the Friendship Hall of the Kelseyville Presbyterian Church at Third and Church streets.

CLPA provides the only funding for the Lake County Symphony, and therefore as a way of saying “Thanks for the Help,” many of its musicians have formed a “breakout” Chamber Orchestra that will present a special concert.

The program will consist of the Telemann Konzert for Flute and Strings and a Mozart Divertimento for Strings. Featured players will be flutists Cathy Hall and Patricia Jekel and violinist Andi Skelton. Other orchestra members are violinists Lisa Arndt, Marta Fuller, Lynne Dodson, Greg Bushta and Jennifer Cox; violists Rick McCann and Jeff Iaves, cello, Wes Follett; bass, Austin Ison and French horn Chris Hanson. Young members of the Lake County Youth Orchestra ? another CLPA-supported project ? will also participate. They are Aaron Bielenberg, Erin Call and Annis Perez. John Parkinson will conduct.

The women of the CLPA Auxiliary ? the fund-raising arm of the organization ? will prepare and serve a complimentary meal to those attending, with wines provided by the CLPA Wine Club.

CLPA President Paul Brewer urges all CLPA members to attend, and bring a guest if possible, and notes that sign-up facilities will be available for members of the general public who may be interested in joining the 30-year-old organization.

“It”s our one chance a year to show a wider audience just what Clear Lake Performing Arts contributes to our community,” he said.

In all cases reservations should be made by calling 277-7076 or 279-0877 to leave your name and number and the number of persons planning to attend.
