According to California Highway Patrol the victim of a head-on collision that occurred Friday night on Point Lakeview Road near Highway 29 was identified as 50-year-old Robert Stephen Faulknor of Kelseyville.

Faulknor was headed west on Point Lakeview when an eastbound 1991 Jeep veered across the double yellow lines and hit him head-on, despite an attempt to swerve to avoid the accident, according to witnesses.

Faulknor succumbed to injuries from the crash and died.

The driver of the Jeep,18-year-old William Shepherd of Kelseyville, was airlifted to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital and was found not to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol, according to a CHP report.

Another driver was arrested for suspicion of DUI late Sunday after driving his 1989 GMC Blazer off of a steep embankment.

Clearlake resident Joseph Lawson, 43, had two adult passengers when his vehicle rolled several times and came to rest 150 feet from the road, according to a CHP report. All sustained minor to moderate injuries. Garcia said a DUI charge was raised to the level of a felony because injuries were caused.
