KONO TAYEE ? A call from a citizen Friday morning brought authorities to the scene of a motorcycle crash that took the life of a solo rider, whose name was not yet released as of the Record-Bee”s press time pending notification of next of kin.

A female boater reported seeing the rider and the wreckage of a green Kawasaki Sport motorcycle lying on the shoreline at the bottom of an embankment just off of Highway 20 west of Bruner Drive in the area of Kono Tayee.

The motorcycle was allegedly traveling too fast for a left-hand curve in the road and went over the embankment where it struck some boulders at the bottom, according to a California Highway Patrol report.

Al though the exact time of the accident is under investigation, CHP officer Adam Garcia said it appears that the accident could have happened up to 45 minutes before the call came in.

A press release notes that it appears that the rider was killed on impact, pending a coroner”s report. The rider was reportedly wearing a helmet, and whether drugs or alcohol were involved is not yet known.

CHP Officer Brian Engle is handling the investigation.
