UKIAH — John Sarale, Forrest Kuecker, George Mavrakis, Ron Duke Sr. and Drew Smith all visited the winner”s circle Saturday during the final installment of this season”s King of the Hill Challenge Series at the Ukiah Speedway.
King of the Hill races are contested at the Ukiah and Lakeport speedways.
Wrapping up points titles in their respective divisions were Kuecker in the Late Models division, Andy Vanderveer in the bonus bomber class, and the team of Ron Duke Jr. and Sr. in the bomber division.
Sarale won the feature race in the visiting Bay Cities Racing Association midget cars division. Sarale drove to victory in front of Ralph Cortez, Chad Boat, Floyd Alvis and Justin Grant, who set the fast time of 12.478 seconds.
Bill Lindsey won the trophy dash and Sarale won the only heat race.
Late Models
Kuecker capped off his championship season with another win in the Late Models main event, taking the checkered flag in front of Blair Aiken, Andrew Snider, Sean Caturegli and David Furia.
Caturegli had the fast time (13.266), Snider won the trophy dash and Kuecker captured the only heat race.
Bonus bombers
Mavrakis won the bonus bomber main event in front of Eric Johnson, Vanderveer, Jerry Crapo and Bill Mucci.
Jared Martin was the fast qualifier (14.862), Mavrakis won the trophy dash and Vanderveer won the only heat race.
Bombers
Ron Duke Sr. won the A-main event in the bomber feature. Scott Sabol, Randy Portlock, Jon Waner and Rick Tommila rounded out the top five. Shawn Kennedy won the B-main event and the first heat race.
Other heat winners were Ronald Portlock and Randy Portlock, who also won the trophy dash.
Ron Duke Sr. also set the fast time (15.561).
Bandoleros
Smith won the bandoleros division in front of Kyle Tellstrom, Jay Cee McLean, Robert Layton and Darrin Silva.
Tellstrom won the trophy dash and had the fast time (15.561).
