KELSEYVILLE ? The California Highway Patrol reported Thursday that a Kelseyville man drove his ATV over an embankment, landing himself in the hospital Wednesday evening.

Michael Green,51, of Kelseyville was driving his Honda quad ATV southbound on Live Oak Drive north of Cole Creek Road Wednesday at approximately 6:30 p.m. when according to the CHP he continued straight at a right curve in the road.

The ATV came to rest 100 feet down a dirt and brush embankment. Green was not wearing a helmet, according to a CHP report, and was flown by REACH air ambulance to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.

“Alcohol is believed to be a factor in this collision and Green was consequently arrested for suspicion of DUI,” according to CHP officer Adam Garcia.

No booking detail sheet was available on the Lake County Sheriff”s Web site at www.lakesheriff.com as of the Record-Bee”s press time Thursday night.

The CHP report recorded that because of the extent of Green”s injuries, he was released to the care of the hospital. The incident is under investigation.
