Will the story of Lake County be told from the saddle of a horse? Cowboy Hideaway Ranch manager Bill Knipal helps Mountain City, Tenn. resident Karen White gear up for a horseback tour of Lake County”s countryside and wine industry Monday morning. That was the destination for a group of about a dozen riders from all over North America who came to help ranch owners Jeff and Ann Irvine test the idea of working with Cross Country International to run an equestrian vacation operation ? a.k.a dude ranch ? that would offer five different rides. Monday”s ride was the inaugural dry run for an idea the Irvine”s plan to bring to the county for approval in the near future, provided the idea itself pans out.
