Tickets are on sale NOW for Middletown”s 14th annual 2007 Renaissance Christmas Pageant and Feast at “Greystone Castle.”

Performance dates are 7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, Dec. 7, 8, 14 and 15; and 3 p.m. Sundays, Dec. 9 and 16. Performances include a three-course sit-down dinner around which a lively costume drama ? punctuated with Christmas music ? unfolds.

The setting is the lavishly-decorated stone and stained-glass sanctuary of Middletown”s historic Pioneer Church, which was dedicated in 1893. The event is produced by the Middletown Community United Methodist Church but actors, singers and volunteers from all over the community participate in the production, which has become a local tradition.

Bargain lovers note: there will also be a special low-cost “Sneak Preview” night at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 4 for just $10. A selection of tasty morsels ( a preview of the full feast) will be offered. The full show will be run as a final dress rehearsal that you can watch ? before the final show goes up! It may not be perfect yet, but it”ll be lots of fun!

This year”s story is based on actual historical and geographical facts, and involves kingship issues between Scotland and England, disappearing cows, a treacherous bay, border thieves, an ancient curse, a wee romance and more! All wrapped up in gorgeous costumes and sets and delicious food, with more than 16 a cappella traditional and Renaissance Christmas songs, dances, games and entertainments.

Tickets are pre-sale only and are $30 each; $5 off if bought before Thanksgiving! Call Shari at 987-2653 to reserve your ticket.

Tickets are also for sale at Tri Counties Bank at 21097 Calistoga St. in Middletown (987-3196), and at the Lake County Arts Council at 325 N. Main St. in Lakeport (263-6658). Purchases can also be charged through the arts council at the full $30 price.

There are only six performances (plus that sneak preview), each seating a limited number of people, so don”t wait! “Greystone Castle” is located at the corner of Armstrong and Washington Streets in Middletown, one block east of Highway 29.
