LAKEPORT — A series of robberies took place over the weekend, according to Lakeport Police Lt. Brad Rasmussen.
“Significant amounts of property were stolen at retail businesses, and storage centers over the weekend,” said Rasmussen as he addressed the Lakeport City Council on Tuesday night.
He said there are two in custody and made the arrests Tuesday after Lakeport Police were tipped as to the alleged robber”s whereabouts. “We were able to solve the commercial burglary at the Express Mart, and were able to arrest one who burglarized Dream Customs, which is associated with Lake Auto,” he said.
The police are working with “some evidence” and hope it leads to further arrests, Rasmussen said. No further information was available at press time.
