KELSEYVILLE — Jeremy Steele rushed for 148 yards and two touchdowns as the previously unbeaten Kelseyville Chiefs fell 25-12 to the undefeated Middletown Colts in varsity Pop Warner football action on Saturday night at Kelseyville High.

The game was tied 6-6 at halftime and Middletown led 13-12 after three quarters.

“I”m proud of the way the kids played,” Kelseyville coach Lou Poloni said.

Geno Poloni rushed for 52 yards as Kelseyville fell to 2-1-1. Middletown improved to 4-0.

On defense, Kelseyville leaders were Steele and Poloni with eight tackles apiece, Steven Edwards and Jake Youngs with seven each, and Jim Green with six. John Mark Reagan had an interception.

The Chiefs are home Saturday night to play the Westshore Vikings. Action begins with the Pee Wee kickoff at 4 p.m.
