LAKEPORT — As previously reported, South Main Street in Lakeport will be closed starting at 7 p.m. Oct. 11 at Campbell Lane while a double box culvert drainage system is installed.
Lakeport Public Works Director Doug Grider said miscommunication with Granite Construction, hired to put in the pre-cast structure, resulted in the wrong time being posted on an electronic sign at the intersection to warn drivers in advance. The sign erroneously tells drivers that the road will be closed Oct. 11 from 7 a.m. to 7 a.m.
Grider said Public Works staff asked the company to change the sign”s display to read 7 p.m., which he confirmed is the correct time. Grider said he expects that the sign will be changed today. For more information, call Lakeport Public Works at 263-5615, extension 22 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
