LAKE COUNTY — Rainy weather was partly to blame for three accidents in Lake County.
The first occurred Friday at 7:12 p.m. when Steven Shaw, 23, of Cloverdale was traveling eastbound on Highway 175 on the Hopland grade about 4 miles west of Mathews Road in his 1976 Dodge pickup. As he was approaching a curve in the road, he lost control of the vehicle, California Highway Patrol said.
The vehicle struck an ascending embankment and the truck consequently rolled over before coming to rest in the roadway.
The roadway was listed as wet but not raining at the time of the accident, CHP said. The passenger, William Williams, 23, of Cobb, was taken to Sutter Lakeside Hospital with minor to moderate injuries. Shaw was not listed as injured, according to CHP.
Two accidents occurred Monday. At 3:01 p.m. three vehicles were involved in a collision on Highway 29 just south of the intersection of Highway 29 and Highway 175, resulting in debris on the roadway and minor injuries.
The second occurred nine minutes later on Highway 29 at Harman Road, involving two vehicles and resulting in minor injuries.
