LAKE COUNTY — Lake County Poet Laureate Sandra Wade is inviting local nominees to be her successor for a two-year term.

Wade was appointed in April 2006 to serve as Lake County Poet Laureate. There have been four poets to hold this title in Lake County: Jim Lyle, James Bluewolf, Carolynn Wing Greenlee and Wade.

During her two-year term, Wade has hosted a writers” workshop on the first Thursday of the month at the Lake County Arts Council. She has also attended open mics and other venues that promote authors” readings. Wade has traveled extensively throughout the Bay Area and elsewhere, representing Lake County poetry.

Wade announced this month that nominees are being sought for the Lake County Poet Laureate for 2008-2010. Nominees should submit five copies of the following:

* Eight poems (10 pages maximum);

* Letter of recommendation from another poet;

* Description of your involvement in and services to the literary community in Lake County; and

* List of publication (if any) with dates.
