CALISTOGA — More than 50,000 elementary students from across the nation will join in Calistoga Wednesday for “Make a Splash,” a national water education event.

Project Water Education for Teachers (WET), an international education program for K ? 12 students, is hosting the event. It is designed to educate school children about such water-related topics as environmental stewardship and conservation, according to a Nestle Waters press release.

“The kids are going to be doing some hands-on science, and they”ll learn about erosion, conservation and recycling,” festival coordinator Ben Page said.

Page said one festival is offered in every state, and called it the nation”s largest water education event.

The event is supported by Nestle Waters North America and its brand Calistoga Mineral Water, according to the release.

Make a Splash will be held Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Calistoga Beverage Company at 865 Silverado Trail, Calistoga. For more information, call 707-307-3612.
