A sobriety check point held on Saturday in Clearlake on Highway 53 north of Dam Road was a joint effort to remove impaired drivers from the road by the California Highway Patrol and Clearlake Police Department. The CHP released the following results, Authorities screened 299 vehicles, gave 17 sobriety tests, made eight arrests, issued 12 citations and impounded seven vehicles. The arrests included four for DUI, two for possession of marijuana, one for public intoxication and one warrant arrest.
