The California Highway Patrol, in cooperation with the Clearlake Police Department, made four DUI arrests, Saturday, oct. 20, during a sobriety checkpoint.
CHP Public Information Officer Adam Garcia reported that the checkpoint was held in Clearlake on State Route 53 north of Dam Road. “The checkpoint was a joint effort to remove impaired drivers from the road by the CHP and Clearlake Police Department.” He added, the results of the checkpoint are as follows:
* 299 vehicles screened;
* 17 sobriety tests given;
* Four DUI arrests;
* Four other arrests (one warrant, two for possession of marijuana and one public intoxication);
* 21 citations issued; and
* Seven vehicles stored/impounded.
