KELSEYVILLE — Maybe it was a case of the Monday evening blahs.

“It was ugly,” Kelseyville High School varsity volleyball coach Deanna Goff said of the Knights” 25-10, 25-27, 25-16, 15-25, 15-13 North Central League I North victory over the Fort Bragg Timberwolves at Kelseyville.

It was a battle of opposites as the Knights improved to 5-0 in the North standings while the Timberwolves fell to 0-5.

“I”ve never seen girls dive on the ground so much,” Goff said of the Timberwolves” ability to keep balls in play during the match despite the best efforts by the Knights” big hitters, who kept pounding away. “Fort Bragg was just outstanding digging up the ball.”

Kelseyville swept Fort Bragg in three games earlier this season but the Knights had to go the distance in the rematch.

“They just wouldn”t let anything hit the ground this time,” Goff said.

Jodi Snider sparked Kelseyville with 21 digs, six kills, two aces and a block.

“She did what she need to do,” Goff said. “She played well.”

Other standouts for Kelseyville were Kristina Swenston with 35 assists, 17 service points, five aces and 21 digs, and Casey Bowlin with 10 kills, four aces and 14 digs.
