Lower Lake High School celebrated its 2007 Homecoming Friday night with an exciting 38-22 win over the Kelseyville Knights. A week filled with school spirit culminated with the crowning of the 2007 Homecoming King and Queen.

With the score board reading 24-0 at halftime, Trojan pride was high leading into the introduction of the royal court. Junior, sophomore and freshman courts were introduced while the three senior football players vying for the honor of Homecoming King vacated the playing field.

When all was said and done, homecoming crowns were presented to Danielle Bettencourt and Jake Sanders. Ashley Newman and Richard Richardson were first runner-ups and Jackie Leffler and Mike Ziemanski were second runner-ups for the crowns. 2006 king and queen Tyler Jonas and Jessica Reising were on hand to pass the crowns.

Junior court princesses and princes included Jamie Dawson and Laney Nolasco; and Jeremy Parks and Andrew Rowe. Sophomore princesses were LeAsia Kendrick and Tashee Denson and princes were Ching Thomas and Stephen Whitcomb. Freshman court included princesses Junirose Thom and Nikki Staats and princes were Cody Myrick and EJ Jermany.

Homecoming floats entertained a motion picture theme. The senior class chose “Pirates of the Caribbean” as its entry. Although the elaborate float, which included a multi-level ship and high-reaching mast, lost the float competition to the junior class”s “Star Wars” themed float, the seniors won the overall spirit week competition.

Sophomore float featured “Spiderman” while the freshman entry featured “Superman.”
