The Clearlake Police Department has arrested a Lower Lake High School juvenile for stealing money and personal belongings from several members of the Kelseyville football team.

Lt. Mike Hermann reported that during a football game on Friday, Oct. 26, at LLHS, several players from KHS had money and personal belongings stolen from the girls” locker room, which is routinely used by visiting teams.

Sometime during the game, an unknown person entered the locker room area and stole approximately $253 in cash and an iPod. Clearlake Police Officer Carl Miller, who is currently assigned as the School Resource Officer for Konocti Unified School District, began investigating the case shortly after. During his investigation he was able to identify a 15-year-old male suspect who had previously attended KHS and is currently a Clearlake resident and LLHS student.

The suspect had reportedly told several other students about the theft and had apparently exchanged the iPod for other goods. Officer Miller contacted and arrested the suspect on Friday, Nov. 2, and is currently in the process of trying to track down the subject with the iPod.

The suspect in this case was later transported to the Lake County Juvenile Hall facility and housed. With the arrest, Officer Miller credited several students for their assistance with his investigation and their willingness to “do the right thing.”
