LAKEPORT — Quarterback Ryan Richardson passed for three touchdowns and Kevin Burt rushed for two scores and caught another on Friday night as the Clear Lake Cardinals pounded the Upper Lake Cougars 56-0 in a North Central League I South junior varsity football game at Lakeport.
Clear Lake improved to 3-0 in the NCL I South standings and 8-1 overall.
Richardson finished with 83 yards passing. Two of his three TD passes went to Chris Leleop and Burt caught the other.
On the ground, Ryan Lunas led the way with 79 yards and a TD, Burt had 75 yards and two scores, Marco Rodriguez added 47 yards and a TD, and Jaime Lopez finished with 19 yards and a TD.
Clear Lake”s defense was led by leading tacklers Lopez, Lunas, Vincent McIntosh and Michael Ventresaca.
Rodriguez and Derek Larson each had a sack, while Lopez and Tony Silva recovered fumbles. Leleop had a 16-yard interception return for a touchdown.
