LAKE COUNTY — The Kelseyville Unified School District election is too close to call, with challenger Chris Irwin ahead of incumbent Andy Dobusch by nine points as of 10:40 p.m. Tuesday. All three incumbents kept seats on the Kelseyville School District Board. (or) Three incumbents were routed out of seats on the Kelseyville School District Board. (or) Incumbent(s) (name) held his/her/their seat(s) on the Kelseyville School District Board, while (name) (and name) won the other seat(s).

The tallies of absentee ballots turned in by Tuesday and unofficial precinct votes show John R. DeChaine in the lead with 932 votes, Gary Olson following with 732 votes and Chris Irwin with 678 votes. Dobusch follows with 669 votes; three seats are open on the board. Trailing with 533 votes is incumbent Valerie A. Ramirez, followed by Don Boyd with 511 votes, Phil Murphy with 486 votes and Mireya Gehring Turner with 457 votes. As of press time Tuesday night, all seven of the area”s voting precincts were counted.

Incumbents Bob Weiss and Robyn K. Stevenson are leading the race for three seats on the Lakeport Unified School District with 871 and 855 votes, respectively. Challenger Philip T. Kirby is set for third place with 791 votes, followed by incumbent Craig Kinser with 687 votes and Patricia Jonas Voulgaris with 345 votes.

Not all absentee ballots were counted as of Tuesday night because of a verification process, according to Registrar of Voters Diane Fridley. The Registrar of Voters Office has 28 days to certify the election.
