I was raised in Kelseyville and lived there for approximately 17 years. I”m appalled by the people trying to change the name of the town I”m so proud of. I now live in Columiba, South Carolina, and I was shocked to find out several people here know about Kelseyville and have connections there.
I was very proud to represent the Kelseyville Indians while going to school and graduating from Kelseyville High School. You”ve changed the school mascot name, but not the school”s heritage. Mt. Konocti and the indian heritage made Lake County what it is, by changing Kelseyville, you are demeaning it”s natural heritage. Who are these people who all of a sudden want to change the world just to say they can?
I hope and pray you vote down the name change, so I can still say I”m proud of the town where I grew up and got my education.
