I certainly agree with part of Doug Rhoades” letter (Record-Bee, Nov. 23) in that he does need a good kick in the teeth. Thanksgiving is a lot more important of a holiday than Dr. King”s birthday, Labor Day or a host of other holidays we celebrate.

Thanksgiving is a day to stop and think of all the good things we have in our country and in our lives, and to ask for more days and years of even better things. Please Doug, if you do not want to have Thanksgiving, feel free to go to work all day. As for me, I still want the day to say thank you to God and to all else who have been there for me.
