POTTER VALLEY — David Clark scored 15 points, one of four Lower Lake players to reach double figures, and the Trojans used a big first quarter to beat the Potter Valley Bearcats 63-41 in a North Coast Section Foundation Game at Potter Valley.
Foundation Games, which are fundraisers for the NCS, do not count as wins or losses for the teams involved. Lower Lake officially opens the 2007-08 season on Friday against John Swett in the opening round of the Best of the West Classic in Walnut Creek. Tip-off is 5 p.m.
“We”re not bad, we”ve got a few pieces and we”ve definitely got some size,” Lower Lake coach Marty Udy said. “We played a good first half when it mattered most.”
Lower Lake led 25-5 after the opening period.
Joining Clark in double digits were Kevin Freeman with 11 points and Mike Deakins and A.J. Harris with 10 points apiece.
Editor”s note: Results of the Lower Lake-Potter Valley game were reported too late to make the Wednesday print edition of the Record-Bee.
