I cannot believe that Charlene Steen, PhD (Record-Bee, Nov. 28) is playing the “victim card” for her deceased client that preyed on and performed violent sexual abuse & molestation acts on innocent children. These “acts” are actually two heinous crimes, one to violently harm an innocent child, the second, to sexually abuse an innocent child.

There is way too much to say, but in summary perhaps she needs to work in a high risk Group Home with children and teens that have been violently sexually abused and molested through no fault of their own. I can”t think of anything more heinous ? harming an innocent child, and seeing the absolute devastating psychological lifetime effects it has on our innocent victims.

Steen stated in her letter “The draconian laws that protect no one and cause pain and suffering…” Are she serious? What about the pain and suffering of these innocent children? We need stricter laws to protect our children because these acts of violence are escalating everyday. How can Steen not be aware of that?

Apparently, Steen has no idea what the statistics are for these very young innocent vivtims. For most their future is dismal; many become lost members to society, and many turn to violence and addiction due to PTSD. How can Steen not be aware of this? Perhaps she needs to do some serious research to update her PhD, or at least do some volunteer work at a high risk Group Home for children and teens.

Believe me, Steen would have a whole new understanding of these ever increasing heinous crimes on our innocent youth, and the greater need to protect them
