During this season of giving, the Christmas Basket Program is in great need. For more than 20 years in Lake County neighbors helped neighbors to enjoy the holidays. For those who are financially restricted, the season can be a lonely and unpleasant time.
Donations received as of press time Thursday are as follows:

? Anonymous, $200.
Money raised from the 23rd Annual Christmas Fund will be used to purchase 1,200 food baskets for needy families in Lake County. The Lake Family Resource Center, 896 Lakeport Blvd. in Lakeport is accepting sign-ups until Dec.19. The Lake County Community Action Agency is accepting applications for baskets for residents qualifying for the zip codes of that area.
If you would like to make a donation to the Lake County Christmas Fund, please bring your contribution to any local branch of Umpqua or Westamerica banks. The Christmas Fund is sponsored each year by Lake County Publishing, Lakeport Rotary Club, Bruno”s, Lake County Community Action Agency and Lake Family Resource Center.
