LAKE COUNTY — The Make-A-Wish Foundation will benefit from an upcoming social event to be hosted by the Moose Lodge in Clearlake Oaks.

Members of the lodge will present an afternoon of wine tasting featuring selections from several area wineries from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9 at the lodge, located at the junction of highways 20 and 53. The afternoon will include an art exhibit featuring local artists; seasonal music by Anthony; and an array of delicious wines and cheese.

Members of the Moose Lodge have come together to bring this event to the community in order to show their appreciation for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Sue Burton said that members were so impressed by the foundation when they made one little local boy”s wish come true that they wanted to give something back to the organization. In June 2007, several fund-raising events were held by various members of the community in benefit of Ronnie Dekeyser. Little Ronnie has terminal brain cancer and various individuals and organizations had banded together to help his family with the expenses of his medical treatment. The Moose Lodge did its part by hosting a spaghetti feed that raised $2700. The Make a Wish Foundation did its part by making Ronnie”s wish come true, which was to see a NASCAR race.

“We were so impressed at how they just jumped right in to make his wish come true,” Burton said. “We want to ensure that they can continue to make wishes come true for other children so all the proceeds from this event will go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.”

While viewing the work of area artists and seasonal music by Anthony, guests will enjoy wines poured from the vineyards of Shannon Ridge, Brassfield, Ceago, Tulip Hill, Six Sigma, Wildhurst, Langtry and Nogel. For ticket information call Jim or Sue Burton at 998-3355.
