LAKE COUNTY? People of Lake County are kind and giving. The proof, residents giving to their neighbors in need on the holidays. On Friday at press time the following contributions were received:

? Betty Lou and Floyd Surber $25, in memory of Patricia M. Wiley

? Laurel, Robyn and Sirre $100, in memory of Rob Groshong

? Deveta D. Tyler and family $100, in memory of Carol Ann Tyler Stark (1989) and William (Bill) Tyler (2007), “to help ease the pain of a special family in our community this holiday season.”

Money raised for the 23rd Annual Christmas Fund is used to buy 1,200 food baskets for families in need. Those in need must apply at The Lake Family Resource Center, 896 Lakeport Blvd. or Lake County Community Action Agency in Clearlake by December 19. Please have photo identification.

Those wishing to contribute to this worthy cause, please visit any branch of Umpqua or Westamerica banks and make checks payable to the Lake County Christmas Fund.

Donations can be made in memory of loved ones, and will be published daily.
