LOWER LAKE — Once the Lower Lake offense comes on line, the Trojans may be hard to beat.
Kevin Freeman scored 11 points on Monday night and Mike Deakins and A.J. Harris contributed 10 apiece as the Trojans used a big fourth quarter to turn back Rincon Valley Christian 47-37 in a non-league varsity boys” basketball game at Lower Lake.
Lower Lake (2-1) entered the final period with just a 24-23 lead but began to find the range from the field and ended up scoring 23 points in the quarter.
“Both teams had too many turnovers and were shooting for a low percentage,” Lower Lake coach Marty Udy said of the first three quarters. “I told them, ?Let”s make the fourth quarter out best,” and they did. They were playing more freely and hitting more shots.”
Lower Lake”s first three games of the 2007-08 season have taken on a common theme, according to Udy.
“We”ve shown that we can play defense and that we can rebound,” Udy said. “Once we figure it out on the offensive end, once we start scoring some points, I think we”re going to be just fine. I know we can.”
Deakins had eight rebounds to go along with his 10 points.
Freeman and Harris hit 3-pointers for the Trojans.
