I feel compelled to write after seeing the final election results in Saturday”s paper (Record-Bee, Dec. 1). This letter is not intended to be a slight to any of the newly elected incoming members of the board to the Kelseyville School District. I am certain they will do their best. But, I can”t help but feel the folks in Kelseyville have just cut off their nose to spite their face.
Having the privilege to call Andy Dobusch a family friend perhaps gives me additional insight to the man we had entrusted to lead our schools as a member of our school board. I felt very confident we were in the best of hands. He well represented a parents view point on the board; his children go to the same schools as mine. He well represented the employees view point; his wife is one of my favorite school employees. He well represented the special ed viewpoint; He is a management consultant to the State Department of Developmental Services. He well represented the administrative viewpoint; his livelihood is made by consulting on best managerial practices.
And, he well represented the student viewpoint; he himself went though the Kelseyville School system, and took great pride in that. As I previously stated, I am certain the incoming board will do their personal best. I can”t help but be saddened by the fact that perhaps the best rounded candidate got slammed by dirty politics.
