EUREKA — Rissy Prude score 16 points and Danielle Bettencourt added nine on Thursday as the Lower Lake Trojans beat Brookings High School of Oregon 53-22 in the opening round of the Crusader Christmas Classic in Eureka.

Bettencourt also had two 3-pointers as Lower Lake improved to 5-3.

Amanda Bettencourt added seven points.

In other girls” tournament action Thursday:

Alhambra 75, Clear Lake 33

At Fort Bragg, Alhambra kept the full-court pressure on nearly the entire game and rolled past the Clear Lake Cardinals (3-6) in the opening round of the Fort Bragg Tournament.

“We didn”t play poorly,” Clear Lake coach Jennifer Goff said, “but with the pressure that we were under, it made it tough.”

Julie Jackson”s 11 points sparked the Cardinals. She had three of the team”s five 3-pointers. Kaila Sterbank added seven points.

The Cardinals play Point Arena today at 5 p.m. in the consolation semifinals.

Upper Lake 35, Roseland Prep 20

At Cloverdale, Caity Falge”s 14 points and five rebounds lifted the Upper Lake Cougars past Roseland Prep in the first round of the Cloverdale Tournament.

Daniella Santana added nine points and Rebecca Grupe had five.

Upper Lake plays either St. Elizabeth or Sonoma Academy tonight in the winner”s semifinals at 7 p.m.
