FORT BRAGG — Rob Avery won his weight class for the second tournament in a row and four other Upper Lake wrestlers brought home second-place medals from the Fort Bragg Tournament on Saturday at Fort Bragg High School.
Avery, the 140-pound champion, was voted the tournament”s outstanding wrestler. He also helped the Cougars finish third in the team standings behind champion Sutter and runner-up Middletown. Eureka came in fourth and Willits was fifth.
James Lolonis (103), Mike Diggs (112), Brandon Sneathen (135) and Randy Dickinson (171) all came in second.
Sneathen upset two higher seeds, according to Upper Lake coach Tom Cox.
