The Clear Lake Chamber of Commerce governing board has selected Lori Peters, co-owner of Wild About Books, as its new executive director.
In late 2007, executive director Bob Aguirre announced that he had decided to resign. “He and his wife Tina have done an outstanding service for the businesses in Lake County,” Peters said. “We have surely enjoyed getting to know them and they have promised that they will stay in Lake County and continue volunteering in the area they have grown to love and live in.”
The chamber board selected Peters, according to a press release, for her involvement in the community, her experience with non-profit associations and her business marketing experience. Peters currently owns Wild About Books with mother and partner Ellen Lundquist, which opened in April 2007 on Olympic Drive in Clearlake. Peters has also been involved in producing the chamber”s monthly newsletter.
The chamber held its monthly meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 8, at which time it was also expected to announce newly-elected members who are joining the governing board.
