LAKE COUNTY — Nominations are being accepted through Tuesday, Jan. 14, for a Lake County Poet Laureate to serve in 2008-2010.
There have been four local poets to hold the office of Lake County Poet Laureate: Jim Lyle, James Bluewolf, Carolynn Wing Greenlee and the current office-holder, Sandra Wade.
During her two-year term, Wade has hosted a writers” workshop on the first Thursday of the month at the Lake County Arts Council. She has also attended open mics and other venues that promote authors” readings.
Nominees for poet laureate should:
? Be a resident of Lake County;
? Manifest a high degree of excellence in your poetry;
? Demonstrate a commitment to the arts and community of Lake County; and
? Agree to represent Lake County poetry at events outside the area.
