LAKEPORT — The Lakeport Police Department (LPD) is continuing an investigation of the death of Dani Simpson-Burch, who was found dead in her Lakeport home last Wednesday.
Simpson-Burch, 65, and her dog were found dead in a home at 60 Lilly Cove Avenue after a relative called police requesting a welfare check.
According to a press release from Lieutenant Brad Rasmussen, LPD, an autopsy was performed on Simpson-Burch in Napa Tuesday with Detective Norm Taylor present as a witness.
“At this point in the investigation, it is still too early to classify the death, however evidence from the autopsy along with additional evidence gathered to date is consistent with the manner of death being suicide,” the press release states.
A full criminal investigation is under way, as evidence needs to be examined and interviews still need to take place.
Toxicology tests are still pending, and the autopsy report is not yet final.
Information on this case should be directed to the Lakeport Police Department.
