MIDDLETOWN — Clear Lake beat Middletown 42-32 in a Coastal Mountain Conference wrestling tri-meet that went down to the final match on Wednesday at Middletown.
Point Arena also participated.
With Clear Lake leading 36-32, Derek Milhaupt won by injury default in the 285-pound match to seal the Cardinals” victory.
Other Clear Lake winners in contested matches were Tyler Hayes, 13-4 major decision at 112 pounds; Jordan Mills, 23-6 technical fall at 119 pounds; Derek Larsen, 5-4 decision at 135 pounds; Erik Jameson, pin at 140 pounds; and Chaz Ballew, pin at 189 pounds.
Middletown winners were Jeremy Dedmon, pin at 130 pounds; John Dedmon, 17-2 technical fall at 145 pounds; and Jason Hill, 8-3 decision at 171 pounds.
Middletown beat Point Arena 70-21 and Clear Lake beat Point Arena 72-6.
In the Mustangs” victory over Point Arena, Will Phelps needed only 30 seconds to pin his opponent at 112 pounds and Hill pinned his opponent in 48 seconds at 189 pounds.
In the Cardinals” win over Point Arena, Holt (103), Mills (125), Robbie Hammers (130), Erik Jameson (135), Matt Lockwood (142), Bobby Latona (173), Daniel Gildea (191) and Andrew Pierson (217) all won by pin.
